Life in Kenya comes with a lot of stress for many people due to reasons such as their economic situation or health. Yoga can therefore act as a coping mechanism for stress. Regular yoga practice creates clarity and calmness which relieves chronic stress patterns and relaxes the mind.
The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. There are several physical benefits of yoga such as increased flexibility and strength and improved respiration.
