Special needs units in most Kenyan schools have a range of needs, with children with cerebral palsy, deafness, learning disabilities, cognitive delays, communication delay, downs syndrome etc. 

Each one of our special needs children are eager to learn.  They require various modifications and adaptations to the academic curriculum in order to reach their highest level of potential and success. As volunteer you be placed in a school with children who have different needs.

Volunteers will take part in the following

• Helping to assist teaching social and communication skills and self-care practices.
• Teaching basic academic skills such as numeracy and literacy
• Helping prepare food
• Preparing worksheets on numeracy and literacy.
• Playing sports and organizing arts/craft workshops.
