As community health volunteer you will assist the local community health workers in playing a critical role in providing essential health services to the people in need of health services .As a volunteer you contribute to improvement of access to health services to vulnerable population through outreach programs ,health education and referrals to formal health education. This program will give you an opportunity to help the community to improve health literacy and empowering communities to take charge of their health. A volunteer will work at health centers ,community clinics .

Volunteers will take part in the following:

• Educating the community in wide range of health issues including: Nutrition, Hygiene, family planning and disease prevention
• Basic health assessments
• Providing basic health care and support to people with chronic diseases like, HIV\AIDS, tuberculosis, you ensure they adhere to their medication
• Data collection and reporting to the relevant authority
• Working with schools to provide health education and promote healthy behaviors among students and teachers
• Participating in community outreach to provide health education, screening and treatment to patients

(The program is located in Nairobi, Nakuru and in the Maasai.)
